Pool time at Nana's

Yesterday we had Gavin for about 6 hours. His mommy went to see Mama Mia, out to dinner and to s scrappy bingo night. We got Gavin's pool when we got him and he had a blast in it.

He found out too soon that tipping the cup up to far can cause an overload of water into your mouth. LOL

Sitting on the blanket after his bath in the pool. I figured why waste water and he loved it...

Melissa showed up from Euless sunday morning. She hung out here a bit then off to lunch and Sam's with her sister and father. Then back here to visit and then she left to go see her BF and her baby. She has missed them the past 2 visits. She left for home about 9pm after dinner from Chili's with us.

13 OMGs About our evening at the Yearly Gala at my Husbands Office.

1. It was planned for July 23-25th outside in the TEXAS HEAT
2. Hurricane Dolly hit the Texas Coast about 1:00pm
3. The rain forecast was only 20%
4. The temperature at 7:00 pm when it started was 90
5. With a potential for Rain, they chose to put the food outside with no cover
6. At 7:30 pm Rain and wind hit hard
7. All the food was ruined (yes including the desert buffet)
8. About 15 people had to leave because they were soaked
9. Anyone that showed up after the rain got no food. Like us.
10. There was an open bar and it did get used by all
11. 5-7 beers on an empty stomach make men "Interesting"
12. Women away from home have the "Dancing Bug"
13. Sweet talk the waiter and he will add Cajun Potato Planks to the company tab for you because by 9:30 and 3 beers down I needed dinner (he got a big tip)

Oldies make a comeback...

Yesterday I kept my Grandsons. Gavin and I read this nearly every time he is here. I love this book. This one is about 17 years old.

Cab you believe after 20 something years the Glow Worm Still Works? It belonged to my youngest Daughter "Melissa" who is 26 now.

Today I kept the boys at my office while their Daddy went on a job interview.

Melissa came into town for the weekend. We went to Newks Express Cafe for lunch. It was so good. A bit crowded still since it is so new. The food was great. After that we went to Dillard's and decided to hit the rest of the mall. I think we went in nearly every store on the north side. We have a build a bear in there now. I can't wait to take Gavin. We hit a sale in JC Penney's and I got Gavin 2 outfits and Ethan 2 new shirts. Then we hit Michael's. I got some new Scrappy glue she wanted to try and loves and Ethan some markers and paper to draw on. After all that we came home and made indoor smores. We let Gavin have a little taste. He loved it. Michelle and Gavin went home and we made General Tso's Chicken for dinner for Gordon, Melissa and I. We stayed up late watching The Bank Job, College Road Trip and talking.

Today we chilled and Melissa slept in. I made blueberry muffins for breakfast. YUMMY!! Melissa went to lunch with her Dad and Michelle and family. We watched TV all afternoon and she left for home about 5:15. Leftovers here for dinner. I am tired...

Dinner with Jim.

Gordon has had a very busy few days. It started Sunday with some prep work. Four hours worth sunday afternoon.. Lunches out all week with a vendor here to install new software in his office. He has gotten home late each night. Tuesday night we picked up Jim at his Hotel and took him to dinner at TGI Friday's. We didn't get there until 7:00. It was a very fun night. He was so much like us. He even shares Gordon's birth year and month. Talk about small world. I so love the dipping sauce that they serve with the steak and chicken. Needless to say Gordon was so tired from 4 long days.

I love my Saturdays of Late....

We hit the grocery store then Lowes to get some sidewalkk blocks for Mom. She has decided she wants to redu it again. AGH!!! After a visit there we needed a fix. LOL Thank goodness Saturdays are the day Gordon and I get to chill with the Grandbaby Gavin, and occasionally the Grandson, Ethan. Today we picked Gavin up at 12:30 and brought him home for the day. We had so much fun with him. He loves outdoors and we played in the grass and watched the cars go by. He actually tried to crawl to catch a squirrel. It was too cute. Ethan was at his Mom's this weekend so we didn't see him. After Gordon and Gavin took a nap we took him home about 6:00. I fed him dinner real quick while Chris and Gordon talked about the project Chris was working on and Michelle cooked dinner. Then we drove through and got Whataburger for dinner... YUM!!

For Heather....Michelle and the other Moms reading this...

Being a working woman can be tough, but holding a job and having children is even tougher.....

There is a story about a mother with several active kids who were playing cops and robbers in the back yard after dinner one summer evening. One of the boys "shot" his mother and yelled, "Bang, you're dead". She slumped to the ground and when she didn't get up right away, a neighbor ran over to see if she had been hurt in the fall. When the neighbor bent over, the overworked mother opened one eye and said "Shhh. Don't give me away. It's the only chance I get to rest."

Round 2 on my back today!!

I had round 2 of shots in my back today...Gordon took off the morning to take me...The Dr was running behind and didn't arrive until an hour past my appointment...I was sore when I went in and worse by the time it was my turn...Luckily I was 2nd...Gordon stopped by Whataburger on the way home to get us Taquitos...Yummy...I lied down for a bit but couldn't get comfy...Then sat up and played on my Laptop...That didn't last long so back to lying down...I did get my 3 soaps watched...LOL...I am still having trouble with my legs not getting comfy...It usually goes away by the next morning...I have to work the next 2 days...I am scheduled for round 3 in 2 weeks but we will see how this goes...

1. What time did you get up this morning? I got up at 7 am. I never sleep in past 8:30.
2. Do you prefer diamonds or pearls? Neither. I am not a jewel person.
3. What was the last movie you saw in a cinema? War of the Worlds. Does that date me???LOL Michelle, Shawn, Gordon and I went for Father's day..
4. What is your favorite TV show? I am a crime show person but have other fav's too. I love the CSIs, Law & Order, Cold Case, Without a Trace, Ghost Whisperer, Grey's Anatomy, Bing Bang Theory, ABC Soaps, Bones and House.
5. What do you usually eat for breakfast? I eat wheeties woth milk and orange juice at least 5 days a week.
6. What’s your middle name? Lynn
7. What food do you dislike? Avocado, Asparagus, Okra, Lima Beans, Pickles and SUSHI.
8. What’s your favorite CD at the moment? Celine Dion's new one Taking Chances.
9. What kind of car do you drive? I have a Cheverolet Tahoe.
10. What’s your favorite sandwich? I love the Monte Cristo at Cheddars. I love Ham and swiss Cheese with Dijon Mustard and the ever famous PB & J.
11. What characteristic do you despise? Liars, users and people that are two faced..
12. What’s your favorite item of clothing? My new comfy knit shorts from Target.
13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go? I have always wanted to go on an Alaskan Cruise and to Puget Sound.
14. Are you an organized person? Yes I am. I used to get accused of alphabetizing my kids toys. LOL I just made sure the pieces of things were all together. Gordon loves it because I can yell from the other room exactly where to find something. LOL
15. Where do you want to retire to? I would prefer near my girls and their families. Not sure where in the USA but not Arizona or Utah... TOO HOT... Not a BIG CITY...
16. What was your most recent memorable birthday? My 30th. I had 2 surprise parties. One my 2 girls planned with family and a few friends and the other my BF had for me at Cace's Seafood restaurant. All Women. Both were so much fun..
17. What are you going to do when you finish this? Take a Nap. I had back shots this morning.
18. Furthest place you are sending this? Massachusettes and Canada.
19. Person you expect to fill it out first? Probably Michelle and Melissa.
20. What’s on your bathroom counter? Hair Brush Basket, Mirror, Tissues and curling iron.
21. Are you a morning person or a night owl? Im a little of both!. I am both really. I can get up and get going anytime the need is there. Night time when I am alone I stay up cleaning so I am productive.

46. What did you do last night? Grilled Chicken and made homemade macaroni and cheese with Gordon. Then we each had our own thing to get done.
47. What are you afraid of? Spiders, Not seeing my grandbabies grow up and loosing loved ones.
48. Salty or sweet? Usually SWEET!! I love Peanuts, Candy Corn and M & M's mixed together. YUM!!!
49. How many keys are on your key ring? 4 keys and a remote for car.
50. How long have you been at your current job? 10 years almost 5 months.
51. Favorite day of the week? Any day I am home all day alone....
52. Do you make friends easily? Yes usually. I talk to everyone who talks to me..

54. Are your parents still married? No. My mother is widowed twice.

Babysitting the Boys.

Last night while Michelle and Chris went out with Michelle & Kris and Amanda and Casey, We babysat the boys. We ate pizza with cream soda and had snickers icecream bars for desert. Gavin knawed on a pizza crust while watching Star Wars. Ethan taught Gordon some moves on his PS2 game. Ethan thought that was fun and so did Grandpa. Gavin went wild crawling everywhere. He ate Lasagne for dinner. Then Grandpa fed him his vanilla pudding for desert. I took him outside and he loved the cars going by and crawling in the grass. He went shooting towards the yellow mums in my garden. LOL

My Oldest Turned "28"

We took Michelle and Gavin out to Olive Garden for Dinner. (Chris & Ethan had gone to the farm) Melissa came in to town for it and Mom came along too. Gavin loved it. Aunt Melissa fed him while we waited for Mommy to get there from work.

He He He....This was the 2nd take and he had made a comment about not saying cheese burgers and something else and we all laughed and got out of frame.
